Condé Nast appoints head of International Digital division

Condé Nast International has appointed James Bilefield as president of the publisher’s new media division, renamed Condé Nast International Digital.

Bilefield, former CEO of open-source ad platform OpenX, replaces Stefano Maruzzi who left the company after two years in March for personal reasons.

He has also worked as an executive at Skype and held senior commercial roles at Yahoo. He will also become a member of Condé Nast International’s executive committee.

Jonathan Newhouse, chairman of Condé Nast International, said, “We represent the pinnacle of magazine publishing around the world and already have a strong presence online. It will be exciting to grow our digital businesses and to take them to new levels of success.”

Condé Nast International Digital covers the organisation’s new media operations outside the US. It has 71 websites in 18 markets including France, Italy and the UK.
