Richard & Judy move to digital

Television couple Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan are moving from terrestrial to digital television and will present their last show for Channel 4 today (Friday).

The couple - who have been working together for many years - have planned a finale that looks back over their seven years at the channel including key moments and interviews.

Prior to this they worked at Granada Television for 26 years and began working together in 1988 on the set of Good Morning.

Their new vehicle will be the digital channel UKTV, an hour-long primetime show that will include their famous wine and book club slots.

Finnigan said the decision to continue broadcasting was largely because of the reaction to the end of their stint at Channel 4.

"When we announced our decision to leave our current television series after seven years, we were very touched by the number of people … who told us how much they wanted to see us continuing making programmes together," she told UKTV.
