ITN launches digital channels on Dailymotion
21-08-2008British news company ITN has announced it will be offering six new consumer channels on a video-sharing site.
The channels, which will be launched on the French website Dailymotion, will include news, sport and entertainment.
Branded under the multimedia division ITN On, they have already been given the titles of ITN News, ITN Entertainment, ITN Sport, ITN Music, Games and Gadgets and OMG.
ITN is the first British news company to partner with Dailymotion, which the Guardian described as a "YouTube rival".
As well as professionally-generated content - which may be of interest to those working in digital media in London - ITV On will encourage user-generated content.
Dailymotion UK creative director Digby Lewis said this "perfectly complements our roots in citizen journalism and curated content from our Motionmaker community".
