Disney executive moves to Endemol

A new media expert has been appointed to head Endemol's global commercial business, something that might be of interest to executives working in digital media in London.

Tom Toumazis currently handles programme, new media and channel distribution across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Canada for Disney-ABC-ESPN Television.

He will take up position as the chief commercial officer at Dutch company Endemol, reporting to the Dutch company's Ynon Kreiz.

Mr Toumazis will drive the expansion of Endemol's distribution busines.

Mr Kreiz said he was a "world-class executive of the highest calibre ... an exceptionally skilled operator [who] couldn't be more qualified to lead the expansion of our commercial activities and growth of our distribution business".

The Hollywood Reporter noted that Disney is the only major entertainment company to base its top television sales executive in London rather than Los Angeles.
