Jobsite makes a friend in Facebook

Online recruitment portal Jobsite has announced a major new partnership with social networking site Facebook to produce a new job application.

To be called Job Match, the service claims to "instantly match jobseekers to the right role" and will be made available to all Facebook users in the UK.

Job Match will automatically pick up location and career data from user's Facebook profiles and will then match them up with available opportunities.

A recent survey by internet analyst comScore found that Facebook is the fastest-growing social networking site in the UK, with 7.6 million unique users in July, an increase of 366 per cent on January this year.

Keith Potts, chief executive of Jobsite, said: "Facebook allows us to reach a new group of both active and passive candidates who can now research job opportunities in a more informal environment as well as tap into groups of like-minded individuals for advice, tips and gossip on careers and the job seeking process."

Last week, Jobsite signed a deal with FriendsReunitedJobs.co.uk to enable both brands to expand customer awareness. The agreement adds an extra 175,000 job hunters to Jobsite's market.
