We are looking for an incredibly dynamic and skilled Programme Manager / Senior Project manager to establish and run a Programme Office for this renowned Broadcasting Company in central London.
With the fragmentation of digital media consumption set to continue, this company is a natural successor to capitalise on the growth of the digital televisual experience across the online and mobile distribution channels. This role will play a big part in assisting the transition between traditional broadcasting revenue and advancing the digital programmes through effective project management.
The main objective of this post is to set up a robust and agile Programme Office. You will need demonstrable experience in managing resource to ensure best practice in digital product development and distribution, working with internal (business analyst, product and web project managers) and external partners (digital agencies and suppliers) to review the capability of the business to implement new digital products and services. This means setting up and maintaining programme and project plans, managing project requirements, developing project standards to ensure the effective delivery of projects, monitoring programme costs as well as the operational budgets, managing staffing requirements, translating requirements into operational plans, and the mentoring of the project managers and their teams.
You will need a thorough understanding of how to deliver projects within the digital space – but you will also need to know the practicalities behind distributing digital content, how to work with the IT, finance, marketing and commercial teams to make sure the projects succeed.
This is an influencing role, to develop the processes and workflows and supporting systems to create competitive advantage for this influential media company. You will need to have an ability to manage change and have clear ideas about what problems you may encounter, ultimately to mitigate project risk and conflicts. Constant development and contingency planning will be essential.
This is not a role for someone to learn on the job. We really need someone who has been there and done it already, someone who knows the pitfalls of what setting up a Programme Office supporting digital projects. This is not about working on large scale projects with large teams of project managers but about introducing a quality approach to project management and consistent standards. The project office will start with one BA and one PM and key liaisons will be 2-3 technical project and product managers.
